In 1969 only, Chevrolet offered for the first and only time the SS396 package as an option on the 300 Deluxe Sport Coupe and the 300 Deluxe Sedan. This car is the REAL DEAL. Ordered from Kelly Chevrolet in Butler, PA, the original owner ordered this 69 Chevelle as a model 300 Post Coupe and added the SS396 option. This car retains its original factory L-35 396/325hp engine, M-21 Muncie 4-speed Close-Ratio Transmission, and 12 Bolt 3.55 Posi Rear. The SS 396 Package includes 396 V8 engine, Special Domed Hood, Black Accented Grill, Power Disk Brakes, Sport Wheels, Wide Oval Tires, Wheel Opening Moldings, Bright Engine Accents, Special Chassis Features. Options include Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Tinted
Glass, Rally Wheels.
The car has all Original Sheet Metal and Running Gear. It has received a Frame-Off restoration with photo documentation and was finished in its original Fathom Green. It retains its Original Number Matching L-35, M-21 and 3:55 12 Bolt Posi. Many restoration receipts. Car is documented with the Original Protect-O-Plate.
Although actual production figures are not available, it is believed that fewer than 1800 of the Big Block Post Coupes were produced. These cars are very Rare and are seldom seen today.
